The idea of the Writing Center was promoted by Prof. Choe Soo Young, dean of the Institute for Global Education in October 2004. The basic premise was two-fold: we wanted to assist professional writers with their objective of getting manuscript work ready for publication. Secondly, we wanted to offer Hallym University's students the opportunity to develop their writing skills in English. The center was officially opened on December 29, 2004 in conjunction with the Hallym International School, headed by Prof. Seo Hong-won. In addition to Dean Choe's initiative, members of the ELEC's teaching and office team gave of their time, energy and experience in helping to bring the idea to fruition. We are grateful to all involved.
Editing Team
The editing team consists primarily of two members at present. , who works as a language instructor in ELEC, is responsible for manuscript editing and assisting student writers.
Hana Choe is our office staff. She manages appointments, requests and accounts in English and Korean. We also have assistance in editing, when needed, from ELEC faculty.
